Nathan Carter has revealed that he bought his grandmother, Ann McEvoy a brand new Mercedes to say thank you for helping him carve out his hugely successful singing career.
Ann has always been the country singer’s number one supporter and she used to drive him to gigs and encourage him to perform at as many as possible.
The heartthrob always knew she loved Mercedes cars so, as a thank you present for her unwavering support, he bought her her very own Mercedes.
“Family is a huge thing to me.” he told the Irish Sunday Mirror. “I wouldn’t be here without the help from them. My nan used to drive me around to gigs before I could drive myself and sells my CDs and merchandise.
“She bought me an accordion when I was four and dragged me out to perform. She’d keep pushing me to do as many gigs as I could. I bought her a Mercedes to say thanks for driving me around the place – she was always mad about Mercedes.
“I had a pretty good year and I’d never bought her anything like that so I just did it. She is so positive no matter what. If you end up in a bad situation or things don’t turn out how you expect she takes the positives from it.”
Nathan also went on to say that his family keep him grounded and they don’t treat him any differently now that he’s famous.
“They do keep me down to earth. There is no special treatment and I prefer it like that myself. Otherwise it’s very false.” he said.
