Model Nadia Forde has paid tribute to her late mum Berenice Paolozzi to mark World Cancer Day, urging her 80k Instagram followers to appreciate their loved ones while they’re still here.
The 26-year-old shared a photo on her profile which read: “Be grateful for every second of every day that you get to spend with the people you love. Life is so precious.”
Captioning the snap, she wrote: “For my Mum and for every person who has fought, lost or won the battle. Let’s hope we find a cure soon #lifeisprecious #worldcancerday.”
The aspiring singer has previously spoken about how she deals with the loss of her mother “day by day”. The pair were estranged before Nadia learned about her illness, but she said her battle with cancer brought them closer together, which she describes as a “blessing.”
She said: “It’s obviously a difficult thing for me to talk about, it’s something that I’m dealing with every single day and it’s just day by day. Different days, different hours, different feelings.”
“I’m lucky enough that I was aware of what was happening so I had precious time that I’ll never get back again and I made a conscious decision to come home a few months ago and live in the hospice.”
