We’ve missed Muireann O’Connell’s dulcet tones on the radio.

She previously hosted her own radio show on Today FM but her time there ended in 2019.

And since then the Ireland AM host has focused on her TV career.

However, on Friday she stepped into the hot seat again on Q102.

She was filling in for Ryan Tubridy as he took some time away from radio this week.

While Martin King had been holding down the fort for the start of the week, Muireann stepped in on Friday morning.

She teased her return, sharing a snap of her behind the desk with the caption: “How’are ya Ryan Tubridy I hope you don’t mind if I ruin your radio show for the day.

“I am playing Celine, all will be okay!”

In another snap, she wrote: “This feels mad.”

Before heading on air, she discussed her anxieties about returning to the airways.

“The anxiety is really starting to ratchet up because tomorrow for the first time in five years I’m going back on the radio,” she confessed.

“So Tubs is on holidays and the wonderful Martin King has been covering on Q102 all week but obviously Martin has to work tomorrow.

“And I don’t know what happened, I must of been having an outer body experience because I’ve said no to every other radio gig since everything went down and I said yes.

“But now I’m like, ‘What do I do?’. I can’t remember how to do the radio.”

She went on to say: “I’m on the radio. I can’t remember how to press the buttons. I don’t know how to count back to do the news.

“I can’t remember how to do anything but I’m hoping it’s going to be okay. I am very sorry Q102 listeners but I’ll remember how to do it before 10 o’clock tomorrow, right? Sorry lads!”

We’re delighted to hear Muireann back on air!
