She was moved to tears when it was announced and has been open about her emotions since leaving the show.

“I’m not going to lie the last week has been tough. I miss dancing with the stars & the people involved so so much! It sucked me in, and learned a huge amount about myself & it’s been difficult trying to get back to normal life & detach myself.

“I never thought I’d enjoy it as much as I did & it was difficult trying to mentally process going home so soon. I felt like I let my family, friends & dance partner down, I was wondering did I make a fool of myself & all these negative thoughts were running through my head.”

She went on to say: “Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want, it’s a lesson & the universe works in mysterious ways & I’m taking that as a positive. I’m so grateful to have had such an unreal opportunity & I know I gave it 100% & that’s all that matters.

“I know I need to move on & ‘get over it’ and I will but I think it’s good to be honest & open when times aren’t always rosy thank you all for the support & love over the last week it’s really been appreciated, I’ll be back dancing for the final so I’m buzzing for that & there’s so many exciting things to come.”

She was met with warm and loving comments, including Derval O’Rourke who wrote: “You look beautiful. My 8 year old little girl loved you & spent Sunday nights show saying she missed you on it. Well done.”

“You look beautiful Mir. We love you and miss you xx,” Rosanna Davison commented.

“You definitely didn’t do anything wrong, you nailed it! Luck is a big part of it. Most important thing you can gain from reality tv is the confidence that you can be yourself when the pressure is on and you did that exceptionally well,” Matthew MacNabb wrote.
