Marty Whelan has opened up about his plans for the future, revealing he won’t be departing from our screens any time soon.
The broadcasting legend has been working in television for over 30 years, and has no intentions of hanging up his boots in the near future.
Speaking to the RTE Guide, the 60 year old said “I’m going to keep going until someone tells me that I can’t. I love it and I don’t feel ill.
“When I was in my 30’s I was desperately anxious about work. Now I’m at the stage where it either works or it doesn’t work and you can only do the best you can and hope it works.”
Marty will be presenting this year’s RTE coverage of the Eurovision song contest, and says he’s enjoying his work more and more.
“I like what I do and it doesn’t frighten me anymore. There was a time when I was younger and more uptight and stressed that it did,” he said.
We’re glad Marty won’t be leaving our screens anytime soon!
