Congratulations are in order for tv star Maia Dunphy and her comedian husband Johnny Vegas, who have just welcomed their first child together.
The ecstatic pair are now parents to little boy Tom Laurence, and Maia took to Twitter to share the good news, having kept it quiet for a couple of days. The 38-year-old gave birth last Friday at London’s Kingston Hospital.
“Our new man has his Dad’s habits already. Tom Laurence arrived last Friday, at a civilised hour after lunch. 7lbs2,” she wrote alongside a cute photo of her baby’s tiny shoes.
The new mum also tweeted this photo of a story run by the Irish Sun about her giving birth to her ‘second baby’, jokingly writing, “WHAT?! S**t….if anyone knows where I left the first one, please let me know!” Johnny has a ten-year-old son, Michael, with his ex-wife Kitty Donnelly.
The RTE star’s devoted husband has also been posting on his profile about the couple’s new bundle of joy, which he says has Maia’s eyes and is “7lb 2 ounces of nonstop pooing.”
“HUGE thanks to the incredible maternity team at
@KingstonHospNHS Mother and child couldn’t have been in more dedicated, caring hands x,” he tweeted.
The English funnyman added: “Overwhelmed by your lovely response to our new arrival Twitter, thanks so much everyone. Will do my best to read through all your messages x”
And of course he couldn’t let the moment pass without some of his trademark humour, as evident from this snap he shared.
Loved-up Maia and Johnny married in Vegas in 2011 and they live together in London.
