Lucy Kennedy has revealed that she was once told that she needed to lose weight if she was going to look good on tv.
The Living With Lucy host said that she had put on weight, and the harsh words from her PR agent Joanne Byrne were exactly what she needed to hear.
Speaking to the Irish Sun she said, “I remember a meeting we had once where I said, ‘Is there anything else we need to discuss?’ And she said, ‘Yes, you need to lose weight.’
“And she was right. I was fat. I had put on a lot of weight. I lost a good stone which was what I needed to look good on the telly.”
Heavily pregnant Lucy also says that she thanks Joanne for her good salary at TV3, praising her for negotiating a great deal for her.
“I am paid more in TV3 than I was in RTE, I would never have moved if I wasn’t. There is this myth about pay about TV3 paying less. Maybe when they started off they didn’t have the money but they do now.
“They made it attractive enough for me to move. If they want you, they will find the money, and Joanne negotiated an amazing contract,” she said.
