The Love Is Blind UK reunion has officially aired – and it’s certainly a wild ride.
If you’ve been following the Netflix reality show so far, you’ll be more than well aware of Belfast’s own Sabrina who (spoilers) said ‘I do’ to Stephen, “sight unseen.”
Unfortunately, the pair are no longer together. Due to long distance and Stephen’s apparently inability to make time for Sabrina, the couple have decided to split.
But Sabrina wasn’t the only Irish person who made a connection in the Pods.
In fact, Dublin man Conor also got engaged during the show, but his journey wasn’t shown on camera.
Conor got engaged to Olivia during their time in the Pods (who was also speaking to Tom, if you recall correctly).
“The first time I heard Conor, I knew he was going to be trouble for me,” she tells Tudum. “His accent was an immediate weak spot. I very much appreciate an Irish man.”
Meanwhile, Conor was attracted to Olivia’s attitude towards dating – “She was a slow burner who didn’t give everything up at once.
“She was incredibly ambitious, and we spoke about building a successful and productive future together.”
But the pair didn’t have a completely smooth ride, as Conor was seemingly popular with a lot of the girls, and waited until the last minute to propose to Olivia.
“I wanted to give each connection enough time to see which was the most likely to develop into a happy relationship,” he says. “I absolutely regret leaving it until the last day to propose to Olivia. She had a lot of unnecessary stress put on her.”
While their story was not followed by Netflix after leaving the Pods, they decided to book their own holiday to Greece afterwards anyway.
“We continued to talk about our future, what it could look like, what we wanted to do next, and where we would live to make the relationship work, all over a lot of wine on the beach,” Olivia says, while Conor adds: “We got on really well and were very comfortable in each other’s company.”
However, real life got in the way once they returned home and they decided to end their relationship, but are still really close.
“The fact that we had such a strong connection in the pods wasn’t a coincidence,” says Conor. “We ended on amicable terms and have a huge amount of respect for each other.”
