Last night saw Lottie Ryan make her hosting debut on DWTS as she filled in for usual co-host Jennifer Zamparelli.

The RTE 2FM DJ joined Nicky Byrne in hosting the competition last night, and she did a fantastic job!

The last series of the show, which was in 2020 saw Lottie crowned the winner as she and her partner, Pasquale La Rocca took home the glitter ball trophy, and now she is returning but on the opposite side of the competition!

Jennifer Zamparelli was forced to pull out of Sunday’s show after testing positive for Covid-19. According to RTÉ, they are hopeful that Jennifer will record her 2FM radio show from home once she’s feeling up to it this week.

This Sunday’s show will be the third instalment of the series and saw the very first elimination of one of our celebrity couples.

For now it is unknown if Jennifer will be appearing on this week’s show, or if Lottie will be filling in again but we are wishing Jennifer a speedy recovery!

However, this isn’t Lottie’s first return to the show as last week we saw the DJ make her return to the dance floor with her old partner, Pasquale La Rocca.

The pair performed one of their most loved routines from 2020, a salsa to the theme tune of Dora The Explorer, but while it went perfectly on the night, the new mum admits the training was very difficult.

Speaking about how much pressure she had put on herself to return Lottie said; “When I got the phone call to come back, they didn’t have to ask me twice but before I walked out on stage there was a part of me that was like, ‘You’re either very brave or very stupid’,” she said on Ireland AM.

“Obviously, there’s muscle memory and things begin to come back to you but stamina wise it was really difficult. It was a big undertaking.”

She continued, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say there was a little bit of vomit in the rehearsal studio trying to get myself up to speed.

“I definitely put myself under a lot of pressure. I just wanted to prove to myself I guess that I could still do it.”

Even if we do see Jenifer back next week, Lottie will remain on top of all things DWTS this year, as she’s hosting their official podcast this year.
