Look Good Feel Better’s skincare and makeup workshops have launched for 2022, helping those in need as they use make-up to enhance the well-being and confidence of people all over Ireland experiencing cancer.

The registered Irish charity offers a unique service to people affected by cancer treatment. Providing free workshops, offered by a dedicated network of volunteers, that give advice on make-up, cosmetics, and skincare to cancer patients.

Their vision is simple but powerful – to provide a programme that can be an integral part of cancer care in Ireland, focusing on building confidence and wellness through the advice and support given by experts in the field of beauty and skincare.

This year, the unique confidence-boosting workshops by LGFB are back, free of charge and available to anyone receiving cancer treatment.

The workshops provided by Look Good Feel Better have been hugely beneficial to many people all over Ireland and worldwide. A Global Participant Survey which collected data from more than 26,000 program participants served by Look Good Feel Better in 16 countries across five continents found that:

  • 95% of respondents appreciated what they learned, and 96% found
    value in the program to improve self-image.
  • 97% of respondents found support through the LGFB experience.
  • 92% of respondents reported feeling very/somewhat confident in their appearance following their LGFB workshop experience, compared to 50% before attending a workshop – a 42% increase.

While participants have shared their joy at the work Look Good Feel Better does;

“After the Look Good Feel Better workshop I felt like I looked normal, I didn’t look sick, and that’s all you want under the circumstances. I felt like a million dollars after the workshop! Now my make-up is constantly admired as I know what I’m doing when applying cosmetics…My children loved seeing their mammy looking herself and happy. It brought some cheer into the house, knowing I was feeling fantastic rather than feeling miserable.”
