Legendary sports broadcaster Jimmy Magee has sadly passed away.
The 82-year-old, who was known as the ‘memory man’ had been ill for some time before his death.
A number of Irish stars have paid touching tributes to the late RTE presenter following the news of his passing.
Amanda Brunker shared a beautiful snap of the pair and wrote, “I will have to pull out some better photos, but Jimmy Magee, I was honoured to call you a friend. The Memory Man will live on.”
Laurence Kinlan took to social media and wrote, “Terribly sad news about Jimmy Magee. He was an absolute gent with an endless love and knowledge of sport.”
Sports star Shay Given also paid tribute, saying, “Sad news to hear that Jimmy Magee has passed away. One of the best commentators of Irish sport ever.”
