Lawyers were called to the set of RTE’s Winning Streak last weekend, after a ball got stuck between two figures on the final wheel spin of the show.

As the ball’s landing spot determines what the game player takes home, lawyers were needed to assist in discovering the final number.

The National Lottery Show is filmed each Saturday afternoon, and airs that evening. The unexpected issue held up shooting for almost an hour, and presenters Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy were told to take a break while the professionals made the final decision.

A spokesperson for Winning Streak revealed the details of the delay to the Irish Sun, admitting that the small issue didn’t disturb the running of the show.

“On Saturday afternoon, during the recording of the Winning Streak tv gameshow a technical issue occurred which caused a short delay to the filming of the show.

“This did not have any impact on the outcome of the game and the show broadcast at the normal time.

“RTE also stressed that Winning Streak “takes place under the supervision of independent observers from KPMG,” the spokesperson said.
