Last night saw singing legend Rod Stewart join Ryan Tubridy for a special Late Late Show interview.
The Maggie May singer, who has always had a close relationship with Ireland, penned a hit in 2018 called Grace – that told the story of Grace Gifford-Plunkett marrying revolutionary leader Joseph Plunkett the night before he was executed.
In a pre recorded interview that aired as part of the show last night, Ryan presented the 74-year-old with a collection of poetry by Joseph Mary-Plunkett, which was published back in 1916 – a moment that touched viewers across the country.
Ryan presents and emotional Rod Stewart with a very special gift.

Taking to social media after the interview aired, viewers shared their love and admiration for the singer, who is due to play two huge concerts in Ireland this year – one in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork on May 25th, and a 3Arena Dublin gig on December 4th.

I don’t know why I’m surprised but isn’t Rod Stewart
such a lovely man. Having just watched his interview on the Late Late Show, I think I’ll get tickets for Pairc Ui Chaoimh in May.— Kieran McGeary (@kieranmcgeary) March 15, 2019

Turned over from Irish night to watch Rod Stewart's appearance on the Late Late Show. You'd have to have a swinging stone where a heart should be, to not be moved by it. I know it was a pre-record and credit where credit is due to Tubridy and co.
