Keith Duffy and his wife Lisa have revealed that they are hugely proud of their daughter after her latest achievement.
Their 18-year-old daughter Mia finished her Leaving Cert this week, with her parents describing her as a “determined young woman”.
Lisa took to Instagram to share a collage of photographs of Mia and her family members and said:
“Well done @miad20001151 on finishing leaving cert exams today, we are beyond proud of you, you’ve come so far, a determined young woman ready for the next part of your journey and we are delighted to be by your side.
“Love you so much @officialkeithduffy @jayduffy we’re blessed to have her.”
Dad Keith reposted the collage and sweet message on his own Instagram account.
Mia who was non-verbal until the age of seven, and was diagnosed with autism as a child and Keith recently spoke about how she overcame any obstacle she was faced with.
He recently opened up about how proud he was to see her graduate for secondary school with a Student of the Year Awards.
“Miracles do happen. Never take no for an answer.
“She did go to school. She did overcome every obstacle. She took the blows and she did fight forward.”
“Thank you Loreto college Swords, you’ve been amazing. She graduates and is awarded Student of the Year. I’m the proudest Papa in the world,” he said.
