Are you ready to start singing Picture Of You and Love Me For A Reason, because a Boyzone reunion is on the cards.

Fans were hoping for a reunion this year as 2023 marks the band’s 30th anniversary, but alas no announcement was made. However, Keith Duffy has offered us some hope after hinted at the group reuniting.

Sky recently revealed they would be releasing a three-part documentary on Boyzone’s rise to fame in the 90s. And according to Keith, if the documentary is well received like Netflix’s recent film about pop duo Wham!, it could resurrect the group.

“That Wham! doc was so huge. If George Michael was still alive, Wham! would’ve gone back out to do a few concerts,” he told The Sun.

“Maybe after this Boyzone documentary comes out, there’ll be an appetite for us to perform again.”

Discussing their rise to fame, the Coronation Street star said: “We were spat at, we were glassed (at the start). But we grafted our way to the top and earned our right to play arenas all across the world.”

The group got their start in 1993, and were one of the biggest boybands in the world until they announced their hiatus in 2000. Boyzone did reunite in 2007, but disbanded again in 2019.

Announcing the news on X (formerly Twitter) in 2018, they wrote: “The news is out and yes, it’s true… Our new album will be the last for Boyzone. We’ve had twenty-five amazing years and we promise you that this will be our biggest and best year yet. Watch this space…”

The new Sky docu-series will be produced by the same team behind documentaries on Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence and singer Amy Winehouse.

It will feature interviews with Keith, Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, and Mikey Graham.

“They have been travelling with us and catching us when they can. They really want to get our story and bring it to the biggest audience possible.”
