Katja Mia has just gotten her brand new role in Virgin Media. She has been waking the nation up every weekend on Ireland AM.
She’s no stranger to presenting, she got her big break when she entered a competition to find new ambassadors and presenters for English presenter, Maya Jama’s skincare brand.
Earlier this year, she got her turn in the hot seat when she filled in for Muireann O’Connell on the beloved Virgin Media breakfast show.
We caught up with Katja at the eir VIP Publishing Power of Women Awards, just hours after she got off the telly.
“I’ve been up since 4am, there is a lot of setting spray to keep this makeup on my face,” she jokes when we start to chat.
She’s got her first fortnight as an Ireland AM host alongside Martin King and Elaine Crowley under her belt. And she is beaming as we discuss it.
“Everything is going really well. I’m so grateful, it’s a great opportunity,” she gushes, although she confesses, “I’m still trying to get used to the early mornings.”
So how is she finding the early mornings?
“I’ll have to get back to you on that one. It’s just my second week in, it can be hard because I’m such a night owl. But hopefully, in two months’ time I’ll be good,” she laughs.
In two months’ time, we’re sure Katja will be ruling the world.
