It was revealed today that a third series of Bridget and Eamon is on the way. Jennifer’s co-star and on-screen husband Bernard O’Shea today told of how the show has expanded over the years, which in turn has led to the comedians being recognised across the globe.
Bridget and Eamon is now available on streaming site Hulu, and the 2FM presenter announced that the Gold channel in the UK will also be airing the hilarious Irish comedy soon.
The wider availability has meant that more viewers know the faces of the unhappily married couple, sometimes in the strangest of places!
Speaking to VIP Magazine.ie Bernard said, “It’s on Hulu, it’s over to the United States. Jennifer’s brother and three others brought it over there. We sold it to Hulu and they had to get subtitles for America! So it’s bizarre, somebody sent screenshots with the subtitles underneath it and it looked very odd.
“Yeah (it’s been well received), they really get it. Jennifer was saying that she was in a Lebanese leather shop in New York two years ago, and she walked in and this guy had obviously seen her on YouTube and was like ‘ah Bridget!’
“So with the internet and stuff like that it’s amazing how things travel and go. It’s not like years ago where you’d go down the traditional route of broadcasters, but no it’s good, and I think Gold will show it in Britain as well.”
We can’t wait for the new series!
