Is this Irish man to blame for historic Oscar blunder?

He was seen sheepishly walking across the stage upon realising the mistake.

It was painful to watch.

Irish-American Brian Cullinan was in charge of keeping the Oscar results top secret, and ensuring all envelopes were correctly assigned at last night’s ceremony, and he ended up failing -miserably!

It seems that all anyone could talk about following last night’s ceremony, was the epic blunder that resulted in La La Land being read out instead of Moonlight for the Best Picture Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards.

In historic scenes, the La La Land cast and crew were halfway through their victory speeches when it was announced that Warren Beatty had read out the wrong film name and Moonlight was in fact the winner of the award.

Brian and Martha Ruiz, who is also responsible for the safe keeping and distributing of Oscar results, can be seen panicking as La La Land is mistakingly announced.

As the speeches commenced from the cast of La La Land, Brian can be seen shamefully walking across the stage with two envelopes in his hand, both being the correct Best Picture announcement.

Brian’s a veteran at PWC, one of the world’s largest accounting companies, who’ve had an 83 year relationship with the Oscars and are in charge of organising the voting process for the awards.

Last week Brian claimed that PWC has had such a long-lasting relationship with the Oscars because it has always done such a “good job”, adding that the Academy had “absolute trust in us and what we do”.

Something tells us the Academy will be re-thinking their relationship with PWC today…
