Country music legend Garth Brooks is apparently in talks to perform at the newly refurbished Pairc Uí Chaoimh stadium in Cork.

The news come two years after his ill-fated Croke Park concerts were controversially cancelled, leaving thousands of fans disappointed.

John Mullins, chairman of the stadium committee, has confirmed that summer concerts will be taking place in the Cork GAA ground next year, with Garth rumoured to be linked to the line up.

“We have definitive plans for concerts next year,” he revealed on RedFM. “In all likelihood they will be starting in May.

‘We are closer to the stadium opening which is going to be at the end of June, we are confident we can provide promoters like Aiken and Desmond (MCD) what they want in terms of the ergonomics of the stadium.”

The new stadium has been in development for two years and will host up to 45,000 spectators at it’s many GAA matches scheduled for this summer.
