Aidan Turner, star of hit tv drama Poldark, has revealed an unusual theory about his fans, as he believes they’re trying to fatten him up.
Speaking at a screening of the third series of the BBC show, the 33-year-old says he regularly receives gifts of food, but appreciates them to no end.
“I get a lot of sweets and chocolates. I think people want to fatten me up or something, but people are very sweet. Everything seems kind of nice and mundane.”
The Clondalkin native also spilled the beans on the hotly anticipated third season of Poldark, and hinted at what’s in store for his character, Ross.
“He’s getting older and more mature,” he admitted. “I think drawing a line between the two families is what needs to happen now. There’s only so many barroom brawls you can get into before someone loses a life.
“They’re both fathers now and they have their families to consider more than anything else. It’s part of growing up.”
