Hollywood actor Chris Pine is not happy with Colin Farrell as he thinks the Dubliner is stealing all the dream film roles he has his eye on.
As reported by the Irish Sun, the Star Trek actor wanted to play the part of David in strange comedic thriller The Lobster, and the role of Marty in Seven Psychopaths, but Colin Farrell beat him to the punch in both cases.
“You hear about these scripts and think, ‘Yes, I want to do that, I want to be a part of those stories. Exactly what I’m after. Huge respect for Yorgos Lanthimos. And I’m a huge fan of Martin McDonagh.
“And just like that, it’s like, ‘yeah, Colin Farrell is doing that now. Yeah, they’re going for Colin Farrell.’ He’s a really great actor, plain and simple but I can’t get a break with this guy,” he said.
35-year-old Chris admitted that he loves Irish literature and even performed in The Lieutenant of Inishmore six years ago in Los Angeles. However, he’s keen to take to the stage in Ireland.
“I do love Irish literature, Irish playwrights, really adore anything Martin McDonagh writes.
“He is one the best writers around and one of the first things I did straight out of college was The Cripple of Inishmaan. It was like a piece of tragic comedy, black comedy, unbeatable stuff.
“I’d love to do something on the Irish stage at some point — that’s on the bucket list,” he said.
Well we’d love to have you Chris!
