How adorable?

It’s been a huge year of celebrations, between extravagant weddings and the births of some of the cutest babies we’ve ever seen. To mark this, we’ve taken a look back at some of our exclusive photoshoots, which covered the proudest and happiest moments in some of the top Irish celebrities lives.

Michelle Doherty

VIP sat down with TV star Michelle Doherty in March 2015, where we met her boyfriend Mark O’Shea, and their six month old son Max.

Speaking exclusively to VIP, the former Xposé star said, “I’m so mad about him. He’s just such a good, wee baby. He’s very easy and very sociable, and he’ll only get upset if he’s tired or hungry – a bit like his mother, I suppose.

“It [being a mother] has made me realise that Max is my everything. You can’t think about yourself anymore. They’re your whole world and they become first priority – everything else goes out the window. If you want a night out? Forget about it.”

Mairead Ronan tied to knot to her long term love Louis Ronan on June 5th. The big day couldn’t have gone any better for the pair, but rain, wind or hail, nothing could put a dampener on Mairead’s mood that day.

“It doesn’t matter if there’s a storm. I’m marrying the man of my dreams, so it’ll be sunny in my head,” she said.

The pair were joined by her eight year old son, Dara, on the day who acted as best man – and even wrote his own speech. How adorable?

In April 2015, Karen Koster showed baby Finn off to the world through VIP Magazine.

The Xposé presenter, as well as her hubby John McGuire, posed alongside the four month old, for his first exclusive photo-shoot.

Speaking to VIP, Karen said, “Everyone talks about this unconditional love, a love like you’ve never experienced before, and i was anticipating that and it totally delivered.”

The presenter also revealed us, that having her own child made her relationship with her mother that bit stronger.

“It has made me appreciate her so much more. You just think: ‘Oh my God, do you love me this much?’, because I know how much I love my son,” she said.

We caught up with Samantha Mumba and baby Sage for an exclusive photoshoot back in August, 2015.

The singer revealed to us, that if she’d have known how amazing it was to be a mum, that she’d have had a baby a long time ago.

The 32 year old told VIP, “With Sage, I kind of feel like a late starter. If I had known how amazing she was and how great motherhood was, I would have done it years ago. I’ve never been this happy in my life. Ever.”

Samantha also told us that she’s noticed a lot of changes in herself since welcoming baby Sage to the world.

“I’m becoming somebody different. It has changed me. I’m far more patient. I can’t imagine ever getting angry at her or upset at her. And the love! I just could never love another person the way I love her. It’s so fulfilling,” she said.

This article wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the Irish celebrity wedding of the year, which of course goes to Lisa Cannon and her hubby Richard Keatley.

The Xposé presenter married her Welsh beau in the beautiful surroundings of Castello di Vincigliata in Florence, and VIP were there to capture every moment – from the hours of prep before the ceremony, to the late night partying.

Speaking to us at the time, Lisa said, “It was spectacular. We had the best time. Lots of people said to me that it wasn’t traditional, it was just really lots of laughter and fun.”

The one traditional aspect of her big day, was that Lisa made sure to incorporate something old, new, borrowed and blue into her celebrations.

“I wore a silver locket belonging to my mum as my something old. The new was obviously my dress. I borrowed diamond earrings from one of my best friends. My something blue was a hanger with a blue bow, which was inscribed with the wedding date to hang the dress on,” she said.
