Yesterday’s news that Louis Walsh was stepping away from his role as a judge on the X Factor after 13 years came as a big shock to all fans of the show.
The Mayo man had previously told VIP Magazine that he was looking forward to getting back to work on the new series of the hit ITV show, before releasing a statement confirming his departure.
“I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave,” said Walsh in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to another series of Ireland’s Got Talent, going back to my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world!”
But today, the news has broken that a certain Mr. Robbie Williams will be taking his place on the judging panel when the new season hits our screens later this summer.
“Robbie has always been Simon’s dream signing. Now it appears he’s finally going to get his man,” a source told The Sun’s Bizarre column.
“Over the past 12 months they’ve become close, as have their wives who are also pals. There’s a deal on the table and Robbie is keen to do it. The hope is that the deal is days away from being signed and announced.”
Judges Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne are said to be returning this year, with the fourth judges spot still up for grabs!
