Fans have been waiting with bated breath for over a year to hear when the next series of Game of Thrones will air – and it’s finally been revealed.
The eight – and final – series of the show, will be on our tv screens on April 2019, which each of the six episodes lasting over an hour.
Speaking about the series, producer Bryan Cogman told Entertainment Weekly, “It’s an incredibly emotional, haunting, bittersweet final season and I think it honours very much what [author George RR Martin] set out to do – which is flipping this kind of story on its head.”
Earlier this month the magazine shared the first official glimpse of the upcoming series.
Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke, who play show favourites Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, graced the cover, cuddled up against a snowy backdrop.
