Grainne Gallanagh has received much praise online for her decision to return to nursing during the Covid-19 pandemic. Similarly, to influencer Terrie McEvoy, she switched her OOTD’s for nurses scrubs as she returned to the HSE to help those on the front lines battling the virus.
It’s a scary time for our front line workers as they come into contact with multiple patients a day, and have to follow rigorous hygiene practices as well as wearing PPE.
In an interview on TG4 with Hector Ó hEochagáin she revealed on the show that her parents were a “bit worried” when she made the decision to go back into nursing.
The former Miss Universe shared that she had no qualms re-registering for the HSE; “When I moved home I thought the best thing for me to do was to go back and help out because I had no other obligations, nothing to stop me and I like working, I like my job.”
The Donegal native also spoke about how difficult it is for some of the patients; “I think the saddest thing is that people can’t have any visitors they can’t have anyone in with them, that’s the worst I think.”
She went on to say that; “When you’re not well the one thing that makes you feel better is having the people you want around you so I think that’s the hardest thing.”
However, Grainne has been using her days off to share some hilarious snaps on social media. With her sister, Gemma as photographer, they’ve been keeping busy at her family home with photoshoots on the farm.
All the pictures show Grainne dressed up to the nines (sometimes with a glass of wine in hand) as she poses in fields with cows, on a tractor, whilst mowing the lawn.
They are hilarious, and she somehow manages to make all these activities look as glam as possible.
