Miss Ireland is heading to Australia!
That’s right, after recently announcing she and partner Ryan Coleman had booked one-way tickets to Perth, Australia, former Miss Ireland Grainne Gallanagh is sharing what has prompted the big move.
Opening up to the Sunday World, the Donegal native revealed heading to Oz was in her mind for quite a while.
Explaining: ‘I’m nervous about heading into the unknown. It’s something that I’ve been talking about for years, but with Covid and all the rest I kept putting it off…”
The model confessed that once the world hit pause during the Covid-19 pandemic, it made her realise how valuable these years in her 20s are, and she now plans to make the most of life since restrictions have lifted.
“These are the things you do when you are in your twenties and I feel that, with Covid, we lost those years and they passed before you knew it.”
“I feel that our generation was robbed of a couple of years where we should have been enjoying our best life,” the nurse shared.
Grainne announced her big plans on St. Patrick’s Day.
Sharing a snap of herself, decked out in green and celebrating the occasion. Captioning her post: “Did the most Irish thing I could think of on this Paddy’s Day.. booked a one way flight to Oz see you soon Perth x”
She and boyfriend/travel partner Ryan have been together for nearly ten years, after years of being school friends before that.
While there is no word on when the pair will be taking off, here’s wishing them a safe journey when the time comes!
