Jamie Dornan is no doubt happy to hear today that The Fall, in which he plays serial killer Paul Spectre, is nominated for the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland Awards.

The finalists have been announced for the inaugural Programme Awards that take place at The Mac Belfast on Thursday November 5.

The shortlist sees top shows The Fall and Line of Duty – both made in Northern Ireland – in the line up alongside 37 Days, the documentary drama miniseries that covered the weeks before World War 1 broke out – hoping to be crowned best drama.

Fans of 50 Shades star Jamie’s creepy show The Fall were thrilled earlier this year when it was confirmed that there will be a third series, expected to air in 2016
