Country music singer Garth Brooks has given his Irish fans fresh hope as he admits he still wants to play his previously cancelled gigs.

The star was at the heart of the Croke Park controversy back in 2014, when five scheduled sold-out concerts were cancelled due to objections from residents of the local area.

The Friends In Low Places singer revealed that he was “crushed” at having to cancel the gigs, and refund over 400,000 people, and is now saying it was “probably the saddest moment of his musical career.”

But now, the 56-year-old may have given us the news we’ve all been waiting for!

I will tell you this, I believe that things that start should finish,” Garth revealed at the Country Music Association Fest this week.

“I have 100% made the opportunity available to the people that make the decision in Ireland, to get those shows back up and get them running again.

“If and when they say yes, I will be there!

“When it comes to Ireland, first of all, when that cancellation happened, it was probably the most devastating thing that ever happened in my career.

“That’s probably the saddest moment of my musical career- what happened in Dublin.

“That happened probably after the coolest moment in my musical career – selling 400,000 tickets in one city, that’s very sweet.”

“To have to refund all those people their money, it broke my heart.

“Not being allowed to play all five, I had to pick two of the five to cancel and I said ‘screw that, I’m not going to do that to those people.’

“It was either all or none, when it became none, it was like ‘come over here (Ireland) again and I’ve been lucky to see the Irish flag at every concert that we do here (U.S.) and I so thank them for travelling.”

Would you be excited to see Garth back in Dublin?
