An array of footballers flocked to Cork yesterday as Irish sports star Liam Miller was laid to rest.

Hundreds of mourners, including Roy Keane and Martin O’Neill, attended the mass at St John the Baptist church.

The 36 year-old sadly passed away over the weekend, following a battle with cancer.

A number of his former team mates from both Manchester United and the Irish squad paid heartfelt tributes online.

Robbie Keane said, “Woke to the devastating news of my former team mate Liam Miller. Taken way too soon.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time. RIP Pal.”

David Beckham added, “Our thoughts are with Liam’s family. Rest in peace.”
