The Irish National Football Team made history by becoming the first squad to qualify for the Women’s World Cup.
While they were defeated by Australia in their first match of the tournament last week, they have come back with a vengeance.
The women battled it out on the pitch before losing 1-0 after Australia scored a penalty.
Today they made history by scoring Ireland’s first goal in the Women’s World Cup.
Within the first five minutes, Ireland’s captain Katie McCabe scored a goal against Canada.
This is no easy feat as Canada are the current Olympic gold medalists.
Fans were overjoyed by Katie’s incredible goal.
A moment for the history books.
