Festival goers were left disappointed after Lionel Richie’s performance at the Punchestown Music Festival last night.
The highly anticipated gig took place at the race course yesterday and fans were left livid during Lionel’s performance because of poor sound quality.
The furious festival goers took to Twitter to share their frustrations.
One fan wrote, “Brutal concert for lionel…. €75!!!! Shane Filan stole show…”
Another said, “Sound is dire at Punchestown ….WTF…SORT IT OUT. Lionel Richie keeps ‘singing.'”
Although Lionel has received some harsh reviews, it seems that Shane Filan stole the show and helped recover the evening.
The former Westlife star performed a number of throwbacks as well as some recent material.
Unlike festival goers, Shane was more than impressed with Lionel and even took to Twitter to share a photo with the international superstar.
He captioned the photo saying, “What a gent! Thank you Lionel Richie #legend #PunchestownMusicFestival.”
Despite the sound problems, this looked like a great gig!
