Fair City fans have been left enraged as the soap is taking a short break over the coming days.
The popular programme is notably absent on the RTE One listings for tonight, April 30th, and Wednesday, May 3rd.
The prime time show has been reeling in the viewers recently with two of its most explosive storylines to date. The Katy O’Brien kidnap plot and Paul and Niamh Brennan’s on going bitter feud have had viewers glued to their screens over the past number of weeks, so they are understandably bitterly disappointed that they won’t be getting their usual dose of the show.
Although RTE bosses have given no official reason for the change in schedule, Fair City’s Fan Page has speculated that it’s due to the Bank Holiday and the Champions League semi-final.
“Just a little reminder that there will be no episodes of Fair City tomorrow (Sunday 30th April) and Wednesday, 3rd May.” they wrote on their Facebook page.
“I think that there is no episode tomorrow because of the Bank Holiday weekend and on Wednesday, I suspect it is because of the Champions League semi-final and they don’t want the ratings to be affected.”
Fans of the show wrote underneath the post criticising the decision, with many branding it “ridiculous.”
Fair City will return to our screens this Tuesday, May 2nd, at 8pm.
