Irish comedian Sean Burke has been impressing Hollywood’s elite with his brand new entertainment series for Channel 4, which sees him interviewing some of the world’s most famous faces in an unusual, yet hilarious manner.
The Dubliner has been working with the UK channel for an online series called ‘Hollywood Hijack’, and has since gained the approval of station bosses, as well as some of the biggest names in the industry.
His show has previously featured the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, and most recently Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson.
While his interviews are filled with light hearted fun and plenty of messing, Sean chooses not to tell the stars what’s going on before he meets them.
Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, Sean said, “ I just have five minutes and I don’t want to waste it explaining it to them. I tried that on the first one and it just seemed to confuse them so now I just go in, try to be as pleasant as possible and just see how they react.
“Mainly the joke would be on me so it’s not really anything too antagonising for them. They’re all pretty happy to go with it as well because it’s a little different to all the other interviews they have. The response has been good so far.”
So good in fact, both Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart decided to tweet about the Dubliner this week. He met the pair recently, and decided to make the most of their time together – despite being nervous beforehand.
“I want to make the most of it, and the way I’ve been working myself up for it, is that it’s literally a five minute slot and it goes so quickly that there’s no point in not doing it 100 per cent. I just go in, give it my all and see what they say. It’s worked out well so far,” he said.
Reacting to the show, Dwayne, said, he’s a “very funny guy,” while Kevin said his videos are “beyond priceless!”
Sean revealed that he was blown away by their response, saying, “I couldn’t believe it! I was making a cup of tea and almost spilled it on the floor. I went into the bedroom and showed my girlfriend Jasmine. I was speechless! I had to make sure it was Dwayne’s account because there are so many parodies but i was over the moon. Then, Kevin posted it an hour later and I couldn’t sleep all night I was excited to say the least.”
And who else would Sean like to see take part in his series?
“Ricky Gervais is releasing a new film soon, also Matt Damon who is releasing the new Bourne movie. Also, there’s the new Star Trek movie which is coming out soon, so Simon Pegg would be great to meet. I’m a big fan of his and he seems like a pretty funny guy.”
