Donal Skehan has opened up about balancing work with fatherhood after welcoming baby Noah.
The TV chef and his wife Sofie welcomed their first child in December and Donal admits it’s certainly changed things.
“Oh well, everything was manageable until the baby came along! Then things changed ever so slightly but he’s amazing,” he told TV Now.
The star explained that the couple are quite adventurous and that having Noah around means a bit more planning before taking off.
“It’s just a completely different lifestyle with a kid – we were used to doing a lot of travelling, but now we’re making decisions based on family life a hell of a lot more than we were before. He’s so much fun, he’s at a lovely age right now too where he’s really interested in food, he’s walking around, everything is fascinating, so it’s definitely a fun time and we’re thrilled to have him back home in Ireland with us.”

Sofie is from Sweden and with the pair living in LA, much of their travelling is to visit their families at home.
“Obviously we have so much family back here and in Sweden. You kind of have to do the rounds to make sure everyone gets the look-in and gets to spend time with him. It’s been such a mad couple of years that in some ways he’s grounded us a little bit.”
Donal chats about cooking, travel, life in LA, his new show and much more in this week’s issue of TV Now on shelves now.
