Yesterday evening Eoghan McDermott pulled off one of the best pranks we’ve seen in a while, as he “accidentally” gave out Roz Purcell’s mobile phone number live on air.
During his 2fm show, the presenter was lining up an interview with the model, and asked his researcher to get her on the phone.
“Just put her on hold and tell her I’ll be with her in a second,” he said.
Eoghan then proceeded to call out her phone number, not once, but twice!
“So we messed up slightly there a couple of songs ago, so apologies to Roz Purcell,” he said.
“We had our mics up and gave out her mobile phone number on the air so we apologise for that. Apologies from the team. She’s unsurprisingly not taking any calls at the minute.
“Roz if you’re listening, we love you dearly and we apologise, and if you could ask Bressie not to punch the head off us, that would be great.”
Eoghan finally revealed to his listeners that it was all an elaborate prank though, and even Roz herself was in on the joke, making the voicemail message before they went on air.
Well done Eoghan, you’ve officially trolled your audience, and Twitter are finding it hilarious!
