Ed Sheeran is set to expand his career by appearing on popular fantasy drama Game of Thrones. The Shape Of You singer will make a guest appearance on season 7 of the show, which is currently being filmed.
The exciting news was announced at the Austin, Texas festival on Sunday, when show runners David Benioff and D.B Weiss spoke about their new addition. They were on a panel with actors Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner at the time.
Although not much information has been revealed about Ed’s role on the show, the runners did say that they’ve been trying to land the singer for a long time.
“For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie, and this year we finally did it,” they said.
Ed then took to Twitter to confirm the news. Sharing an article about himself he wrote, “Guess the cat is out of the bag….”
As if we weren’t excited enough for season 7 to return!
