Just weeks after undergoing spinal surgery, Eamonn Holmes has suffered a fall down the stairs in his Surrey mansion.

The presenter reportedly then had to undergo another surgery for his fractured shoulder and is recovering at the moment. The injury means he will be off our screens for longer than expected…

His rep told The Express, “He’s naturally gutted by the setback, but the good news is the surgery on his shoulder went well. He’s now receiving fantastic care and resting.

“Sadly it means Eamonn is likely to need a longer period off TV than he first thought in order to get himself better and heal.

“But despite being in an awful lot of pain, he’s remaining positive and is looking forward to doing what he loves most and being back on TV and presenting on GB News just as soon as he can.”

Eamonn’s co-presenter, Isabel Webster shared a sweet message to him on her Instagram story in light of the news, posting a screenshot of a news story about his fall, she wrote, “It’s been a tough few weeks for my lovely friend co-presenter…I can’t wait to have him back, fighting fit, in the New Year.”

In early October, Eamonn thanked Isabel for being so accommodating as he takes time off, telling her: “Your actions convinced me…. you my lovely friend, after doing a week’s broadcasting on the Queen’s funeral, and you are so professional and fantastic, what people won’t know is where we were sitting was a bit of an assault course. When you do these broadcasts you’ve got to climb over scaffolding…

“[People] see the lovely view but to get to the view takes a lot and it took a lot out of me I have to say.

“On the last day, throughout the week we’ve a wonderful producer, a little pocket rocket called Sarah… She was brilliant and she’s half my size and height and she was my crutch, literally my crutch, and it was quite embarrassing.

“Then on the last day, my lovely dear friend Isabel, had to walk me a fair distance… You’re one of my dearest friends in life and you go above and beyond the call of duty. There is such a beautiful heart with you.”

We are wishing Eamonn a speedy recovery!
