Dr Eva Orsmond has hit out at Dancing with the Stars producers over her introductory video for the show.

The weight loss expert has revealed she was not happy that her introductory video included a clip of her reprimanding Operation Transformation contestant Charlotte O’Connell over four years ago. In the clip, she lashes out at a tearful Charlotte and tells her to “cop on”.

“I was very annoyed that they put that Charlotte episode in the tape.” she told the Irish Sun. “That was four years ago and I’ve done a lot of good work on shows like Sugar Crash and Medication Nation, which is coming up.

“Why not talk about the important work I’ve done in fighting diabetes? That really bothered me. There are so many other things. It would be nice to have more focus on the positive things,”

However, Dancing with the Stars producer, Larry Bass has defended the use of the clip and said that all the introductory videos are made with the intention of showing viewers the contestants personalities.

“I’m sure Teresa Mannion wished we hadn’t used the video of her reporting from Salthill in the middle of Storm Desmond on the first episode of Dancing With The Stars too.” he said.

“But it’s all about putting our personalities in context. The public and our judges only mark them when they get out on the dance floor.”
