Donal Skehan was evacuated from This Morning set after a bomb scare earlier today

Celebrity chef Donal Skehan was evacuated by security from the This Morning set during an ad break today due to a bomb scare. Donal was on the breakfast show making his delicious raspberry cheesecake bars for hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby but got quite the shock when they cut for an ad break only to be ushered out of the ITV studio building due to a bomb scare.

Sharing his experience on Instagram, he said, “Slightly scary stuff we’ve just been evacuated due to a bomb scare at the studios!”

“Just finished making raspberry cheesecake bars on @thismorning and Phil & Holly went to an ad break before we got told there was a bomb scare and the whole studio and television center building had to evacuate.”

Luckily everyone was fine, but the Dublin native did share just how hectic the situation was. Explaining, “Roads and tube stations were closed, scary stuff! Thankfully everything all clear now, grateful to all the staff and team at @itv who got everyone out safely.”

The rest of This Morning and the following show Loose Women were unable to air as a result of the threat. A pre-recorded segment of Holly and Phil’s regarding tree-hugging was played instead to cover these shows.

According to he Metropolitan Police, “At 11:14hrs on Thursday, 10 March, police were called to reports of a security alert at Wood Lane, White City.”

“It was reported a suspicious item had been discovered. The area was evacuated as a precaution and White City and Wood Lane tube stations were temporarily closed.”

“The incident was stood down shortly before 12:49hrs. An investigation is ongoing.”
