Irish actress Ruth Negga has been nominated by the public for the Bafta Rising Star Award, and it seems that we’re not the only ones who are proud of her.
Dominic Cooper, Ruth’s longterm boyfriend, has now spoken out about the admiration he has for his talented girlfriend. Being a fellow actor Dominic understands how difficult it can be to have your work appreciated, and he’s said that seeing it happen for Ruth “is a beautiful thing.”
Speaking to the Press Association Dominic said, “It’s wonderful to see and to have watched that process unfold and for it to be appreciated is a beautiful thing.”
The Warcraft star also discussed the excitement surrounding the Baftas, saying that it was a dream of his to attend the ceremony.
“We grew up surrounded by it, it’s the one you’re desperate to be at and attend, and when you’re finally there it’s a celebration.
“But it is people’s opinions and you do have to keep that in the back of your mind, and there are people who get left out.
“Ultimately it’s an evening of appreciating and seeing the people who are not only in front of the camera but the people you don’t get an opportunity to meet but are the incredible minds behind making these wonderful films that take years and years,” he said.
