Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson is set to star as the villain of the new film version of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit. Domhnall will play Mr. McGregor, the evil farmer who is constantly trying to cook the rabbits.

The Dubliner isn’t the only big name of the list of cast members for the film. James Cordon will lend his voice to the part of Peter, X-Men: Apocalypse star Rose Byrne will play Bea and Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley will also take part.

The film adaptation will commence filming in January of next year with Animal Logic, the company behind the BAFTA award winning Lego Movie.

Peter Rabbit isn’t the only child-related film that Domhnall is currently starring in, as he’s also been cast to play the role of Winnie The Poo creator A.A Milne, in a biopic about his life.
