VIP magazine, the home of Irish celebrity, is seeking a full-time staff editor to join our team.
Working closely with the editor and the rest of the magazine and online team, the staff editor is a crucial member of our staff, responsible for producing content for both VIP magazine and vipmagazine.ie. The job involves organising photoshoots, writing feature interviews, news stories, subbing, some online production and much more each month.
You’ll be incredibly organised, and able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure. You’ll have a stuffed contacts book and an encyclopedic knowledge of Irish celebrity. You’ll have a desire to be the best – to deliver the best photoshoots and the best interviews. You’ll be brimming with ideas for cover stars and other features, and you will have the enthusiasm and tenacity to deliver on these ideas.
You’ll also need:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team
- Excellent writing skills
- 2-3 years experience in a magazine, newspaper or large online site
- Ability to spot a typo at 20 paces
- Knowledge of InDesign
- Knowledge of WordPress and the ability to write for web
