Deirdre O’Kane is a busy woman.
Between her stand-up shows, her TV appearances and being a mother to two teenagers, where does she find the time to breathe?!
She spoke about “juggling” her work life with her home life when she appeared on Natasha Rocca Devine and Lisa Cannon’s podcast, Space To Grow.
Sitting down with the two, she confessed that, just like millions of other women, the juggle can be tough for her.
“No woman has a natural ability to shuffle anything. You’re just juggling all the time,” she said on the podcast.
“You’re just putting fires out all the time. And you’re just doing your best. And your best is enough.”
She went on to say that sometimes things slip through the cracks – like having a perfectly clean home.
“You can’t have a constantly perfect house when you have a toddler. You have to let that kind of stuff go.

“That is not possible if you have small children. Unless you want to spend every minute of the day picking up and putting away and that’s very boring. And ultimately children don’t care about having a tidy home, they just want a happy home.”
She admitted that she thinks social media puts a lot of pressure on people to be seen to have everything perfect.
“Everyone is trying to be the Kardashians but that’s not possible!” she confessed.
