Comedian Deirdre O’Kane was recently announced as the voiceover artist for the Irish version of Gogglebox, alongside Mrs. Brown’s Boys actor Rory Cowan. The pair will narrate the TV3 version of the hilarious programme.
However, Deirdre is adamant that her face will not be seen on the reality tv show. Speaking to The Herald, the Louth native revealed that she would never let a camera come into her home for fear of how she would look.
“Never, not in a million years. Are you joking? Reality TV is not something I would ever consider doing.
“A camera in my home, would I allow it? No. I’d be worried about the way I look, I’d be worried about the house being manky, everything. Fair play to them,” she said.
The 45-year-old is very excited about her role on the show, and immediately said yes to the offer. She did admit though that filling the shoes of the show’s former UK presenter, Caroline Ahern, will be a difficult task. Caroline sadly passed away in July.
“It took me seconds, of course I was going to say yes, it was a no-brainer. It will be hard to fill Caroline Ahern’s shoes,” she said.
We can’t wait to see the new series.
