It’s been quite the few weeks for our Olympic Champion Daniel Wiffen.
And now that he’s home, Daniel couldn’t help but share his gratitude.
Yes, not only did the swimmer pick up Ireland’s first gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics for the 800m freestyle final, but he also set a new Olympic record.
Taking to Instagram, Daniel opened up about his Olympic journey, sharing how he has accomplished his childhood dream.

“They say every child has a dream, to pursue the dream is in every child hand’s to make it a reality,” the swimmer began his post.
“I had the dream of becoming an Olympic Champion. I put the work in everyday and I’m so happy to say that I have accomplished my childhood dream.
“However behind every child you have a support team of friends, family, coaches, teammates who encourage and help make your dream a reality,” he added.
“So I would firstly like to thank my parents who sacrificed their own lives to make my dream a reality.
