Daniel O’Donnell’s partner for Strictly Come Dancing as been revealed as Kristina Rihanoff.
Rumours of the pairing came about after an audience member saw the two dancing together in a pre-recorded segment of the show earlier in the week, and the Mirror UK claim a BBC source has since confirmed the news.
Ahead of his debut on the talent show, Daniel said: “Earlier this year I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting, well what could be more exciting that Strictly Come Dancing? I love to dance, and boy am I looking forward to getting started and being the best that I can be.”
Since beginning training, Daniel has been making the most of his entire Strictly experience. The singer has been making new friends on the show, including Peter Andre and Iwan Thomas, and he’s even keen to test out a spray tan!
Speaking to the Irish Daily Star, Daniel said, “I’ve never had a spray tan. Will I have to have spray tans? I suppose I’ll try anything once.”
The sparkly outfits we’re so used to seeing on Strictly, are nothing new to Daniel: “I’ve worn a few jackets with sequins on them through the years. In moderation, I’m game!”
While the Irish crooner seems to be settling in with the Strictly life, Daniel is a bit worried about the choreography for the live shows.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror earlier this week, he said, “When I dance on stage during my shows, I am never on the same spot two nights in a row, so I obviously have to be a little bit more choreographed for Strictly and remember to be at the right place at the right time. I just hope I can remember everything and keep the energy up.”
Daniel has been known to bust a few dance moves every now and again, and having seen his dancing abilities on this year’s Rose of Tralee, we’re sure Kristina will have her work cut out, but we can’t wait to see how they do!
