It’s the topic on everyone’s lips.
Who will be stepping into the role of Late Late Show host when Ryan Tubridy leaves the show at the end of the month.
Now Daniel O’Donnell himself has weighed in on the situation.
He joked: “God help them whoever they are!”
Speaking on Newstalk earlier this week, he shared his opinion on where the show should go in the future.
“I wish good luck to whoever takes it over. Maybe if they rejigged it and had it less serious and let some other show do a serious show, so that the audience that’s on there for a bit of fun are not bored with what needs to be talked about in a serious way.
“I mean, if you look at Graham Norton… it’s all fun, it’s all light and it’s fantastic. So maybe that’s something that needs to be thought about for The Late Late Show,” he added.
He pointed out all the people exiting the race for the role, joking: “They’re dropping out like flies, all the people that were lining up for it.”
However, he joked that he wouldn’t “rule himself out” for the role adding that he “never misses it” when he’s back home in Donegal.
“It’s more or less a done deal,” The Independent reports.
They went on to say that they want to bring the flagship show in a “completely new direction“. They feel like the 52-year-old Down man is the perfect person to helm the ship.
