Good news for One Direction fans – it looks like the boyband may be getting back together!
Members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and our very own Niall Horan all refollowed former member Zayn Malik on social media over the weekend, leading to rumours of a reunion in the near future.
This development comes as the boys approach their 10th anniversary, having been put together on the UK X-Factor in 2010, before achieving unprecedented success worldwide.
Further fueling reunion rumours, Liam Payne recently mentioned a ‘special project’ while speaking with The Sun saying, “we’ve all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice.”
Earlier this year Niall appeared on the Late Late Show, and when questioned about a possible reunion, he didn’t completely shut it down.
“I’m really enjoying what I’m doing now and if it wasn’t for 1D I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now,” he told host, Ryan Tubridy. “It’s just a case of when everyone’s ready.”
Bandmate Zayn left 1D in 2015, while the remaining foursome stayed together until 2016, calling their split to work on solo projects a ‘hiatus.’
Four years later, it seems that fans can anticipate a comeback of some kind!
