A congratulations is in order, as Fred Cooke and Julie Jay have officially tied the knot.
The pair got engaged in lockdown of last year, and married in Dingle, Co. Kerry at the weekend with 80 of their family members and close friends.
Speaking to the Irish Examiner ahead of their big day, Fred shared: “I married Julie Jay in soul and in spirit when I met her three years ago so today is just making it formal.”
“I knew back then she was my soulmate and my forever partner and I’m so lucky to have found her and so lucky to celebrate that in front of family and friends today.”
The pair announced their engagement in August of 2020, with Fred popping the question during the lockdown. But the happy couple decided to keep the good news to themselves for a number of months.
“Myself and Fred got engaged but we didn’t say it to anyone,” she said on The Shift podcast.
“We actually got engaged about three months ago. I forget because we didn’t tell anyone. We were like, ‘Who cares in the lockdown if you’re engaged’.”
The pair also welcomed their first child in September 2020, a baby boy named Ted.
