Cathy Kelly took to social media this week to share the sad news that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Irish author who has written almost 20 books over the last two decades.
She took to Twitter to share the diagnosis, she wrote: “Hello, this is a very different post to my usual posts but I wanted to let you all know that I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve started treatment and am currently undergoing chemotherapy.
She then shared pictures of her animals, continuing: “Thanks to love and support and a brilliant medical team, I’m doing well and you’ll be hearing more from me soon. Having lots of cuddles with my gorgeous Scamp and Juno.

She received well-wishes from her followers after sharing the news.
“Cathy, I hope each day brings a little more strength, determination, and healing your way,” one wrote.
“Aww sending love, strength & hugs to you Cathy,” another commented.
“Ah Cathy I am so sorry to hear that news. Stay well. I literally passed on your book The Wedding to my friend yesterday and we were saying how much we enjoy your writing,” a third added.
